Leadership Academy

The City of Winslow is putting together Neighborhood Committees and scheduling a Citizen's Academy for anyone who wants to learn more about how the City functions.   Call Community Development, 289-1411 or come to the first meeting, Council Chambers, 6:00 p.m. August 3rd.  Click here to view the 2011 Academy schedule.

Recycling

The City of Winslow has a recycling trailer available for schools, hospitals, businesses, and other organizations that can be placed at their site for recylcing events.

Please deposit your recyclables inside the trailers and do not place your items on the ground around the trailers, for it makes these areas unsightly. In addition, please do not bag your items.

What can be recycled?

·         Cardboard

·         Chipboard

·         Aluminum cans

·         Tin cans

·         Newspaper (including the inserts)

·         Magazines

·         Junk mail (self-sealing and window envelopes are ok)

·         Office paper (white, colored, manila folders, and envelopes)

·         #1 and #2 plastic containers (remove caps and pumps)

No other items should be placed inside the recycling trailers.

Where are the trailers located?

The City has eight (8) bins located throughout the community.

  • Two bins are in the Safeway parking lot (North Park Dr.)

  • Two bins are at Fire Station #2 (Frontage Rd south of Desert View Dr.)

  • One bin at the Fire Station (E. Third St.)

  • One bin near the Chamber of Commerce building (E. Second St.)

  • One bin at the Police Department parking lot (W Third St.)

  • One bin at the Transfer Station on the north end of Sante Fe Dr. (Cardboard Only)
